realKNX O-two for SVS: Offline voice control for theJUNG SmartVisuServer

realKNX O-two is a ceiling mounted device for offline voice control, which uses the created configuration of the SmartVisuServer (SVS) JUNG.

The combination of the O-two speaker/microphone and the SVS enables all the following functions and services without any additional costs.

 

 


realKNX – Offline Voice Control with Snips

The vocabulary of this AI based offline Voice Control system is generated dynamically from the configuration data for rooms and functions. The privacy is guaranteed and by design: what you say at home stays at home. Another advantage with the new offline voice solution is the installation stays independent of cloud services, automatic updates and Internet accounts.

The configuration of the realKNX voice control is automatic. As soon as the realKNX O-two speaker has access to the KNX proServ, he reads out all the KNX functions and zones, which were configurated in a standard ETS product data base. They are translated without any further interaction and in less than a minute.

realKNX dispose of “artificial intelligence” and enables as the first offline Voice Control the dynamic generation of vocabulary from the configuration data of ETS. Therefore, the unique configuration of the product data base of the proServ is enough to run the offline voice control.

Why offline Voice Control?

  • Privacy is guaranteed and by design. No voice recordings will ever leave the house!
  • Voice recordings are not transferred from the house to an Internet cloud service, everything runs on the realKNX server and work independently of an Internet connection.
  • The solution is independent of any updates unlike the common cloud assistants. Once installed, it will work unchanged for years.
  • The installation is even easier than with online cloud services. No service account setup is required.
  • The voice commands and possibilities of sentences and questions can also be adapted by ProKNX to any special requests.

Commands and queries for lighting, shutters, HVAC and media systems may be intuitively spoken in hundreds of different ways.

  • “It’s too cold” ,“It’s too warm”, “Set the temperature to 22 degrees”

realKNX – visual programming with Node-RED

The extremely powerful but easy to use visual programming tool Node-RED is an additional highlight. Node-RED can easily be used for automation tasks by interconnecting function blocks. The programming of Node-RED requires no knowledge of a programming language. The user has access to our large library, which can be copied and adjusted. The library modules includes functions blocks as for example AND/ OR gates, or SMS & Push notifications on mobile phones up to complex alarm systems with unique features as dogs barking from the SONOS device. The speaker of the O-two can directly react to KNX events. For example, by speaking to the smoke alarm it will respond by giving instructions about the correct behavior in case of a fire.

One further complement to the realKNX feature list is the very powerful but yet easy-to-use visual programming tool Node-RED. Node-RED is used for building automation tasks, simply by ‘wiring together’ code blocks. It uses a visual programming approach that allows wiring together predefined code blocks (known as ‘nodes’) to perform a task. The connected nodes, usually a combination of input nodes, processing nodes and output nodes, when wired together, make up ‘flows’. Our customers have access to an extensive code library. The library demonstrates low level functionality as logical functions (AND/OR etc), SMS & Push notifications to mobiles phones, HTTP requests. We added high level functions as smart energy management modules as well as Feelgood light modules.

Due to the big Node-RED community hundreds of IoT devices are made available on the library. Likewise, it is a cinch to use the communication protocols as MQTT, IFTTT, Modbus, Enocean… Our KNX nodes allows external data points to be mapped directly to KNX.


Structure of the system

The realKNX O-two speaker/microphone needs a power connection (the power cord is delivered with the product) and an Ethernet connection. This is possible by wire or wifi.

The proServ needs a 24V (DC/AC) power supply, a wired Ethernet connection (with PoE, the auxiliary voltage can be omitted) and a connection to the KNX Bus.

It is also possible to connect several O-twos to one proServ. Please inquire if necessary.
